The Sancho Panza Society was founded in 2011 and, as the above guidelines indicate, the Society goes well beyond the scope of the Blanco Touring Company and is primarily an excuse to catch up with friends and, just as importantly, to make new friends. It pays homage to the crucial importance of friendships and to the enrichment of our lives that we derive from the persons that we encounter as we travel life's highway. You don't have to be interested in joining us on one of our tours to participate in the Society.
The Society will host gatherings from time to time in different and interesting venues that offer a special dining experience and an escape from life's routine.
The Society is about having fun. About coming along and meeting new people from diverse backgrounds. About having a laugh and putting a smile on your face and a spring in your step. It's not about formalities, a rigid structure or anything too serious. Its focus is not Spanish or Latin American, but embracing of all cultures.
Membership is open to one and all and will be on an event by event basis, i.e. you either turn up or you don't. Some gatherings will therefore be small and others large. All that membership requires is that, if you do elect to attend a gathering, you agree to comply with the guidelines as set out above and, in particular, to mingle with the other guests.
You are encouraged to spread the word, coming alone or in the company of friends, but always remembering that the events are about meeting new faces. Going outside your social 'comfort zone' won't hurt and you just might meet some interesting people.
